Itinerary

08.30AM or 11.30AM or 02.30PM: Our Informative Tour Guide will welcome you at 4 Holy Cannons of Ngan Gate of the Citadel for Hue Imperial City Walking Tour. Today, we will have about 2.5 hours walking in the Hue Imperial Citadel with informative local English speaking guide to learn about History of Hue and Vietnamese Royal Culture with:

1. Nine Holy Cannons: 9 cannons that Hue artisans cast in Gia Long’s second year (1803). Nine cannons are the most valuable bronze works of art. Each of them is about 10 tons, and was only for symbolym.
2. Noon Gate (South Gate): Built in 1833 in the traditional Vietnamese style under the rule of King Minh Mang. The gate only used by the Kings for troop movements and ceremonies on special occations.
3. Flag Tower. Hue Imperial Citadel flagpole was built in 1807. It is infront of the south gate of Hue citadel. The tower was destroyed and restored several times. It was to hang the flag of the royal family.
4. Supreme Harmony Palace: The place was only for the coronation ceremony of 13 Nguyen kings and some other important occasion. Built in 1805 and restored several times.
5. Nine Dynastic Urns: These are nine bronze urns, located in front of The Mieu Temple in Hue Imperial Citadel. The Nine Urns made by Emperor Minh Mang in the winter of 1835 and inaugurated on March 1, 1837.
6. The Mieu Temple: built in 1821 by Second Kings of the Nguyen Dynasty – Minh Mang. This is a temple to worship 10 Kings of the Nguyen Dynasty.
7. Forbidden Purple City: The Forbidden Purple City belongs to a complex of the ancient capital of Hue. Which is the center of daily life of the Kings, their Queens, Minor Wives and Cocubines of the Nguyen’s Emperors.
