Itinerary

Welcome to Vientiane, the capital city of Laos! Upon your arrival at Wattay International Airport in Vientiane, our tour guide/driver will welcome you at the exit and escort you to your hotel in downtown Vientiane for check-in. Take some time to rest and prepare for your exploration of Vientiane with your guide the following day. Our recommendation for Free Time:

  • Patuxai Monument or Victory Gate of Vientiane(Entry Fee required): This war monument was inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, offers a panoramic observation deck on the top floor. Take in breathtaking views of Vientiane city, the surrounding plains, and even catch a glimpse of neighboring Thailand across the Mekong River on a clear day.

When is the Best Time Travel to Laos?

  • Laos is a landlocked country. For the best comfortable weather and outdoor activities. We recommend visiting during the dry season (October to April).
  • If you expect to have fewer crowds and lower prices. You can consider visiting the country during the green season (May to September). This is also a good time to see the waterfalls at their most impressive.

Local Customs in Laos You Should Know:

  • Respectful Dress: Laos is a Buddhist country. Dress modestly, especially when visiting Buddhist temples. Choose clothing that covers shoulders and knees for both men and women.
  • Temple Etiquette: When entering a Buddhist temple, remove your shoes and socks. It’s customary to make a small donation upon entering or leaving. Female should avoid physical contact with monks.
  • Monks: Buddhist Monks earn the most respect in local custom. If you encounter a monk, try not to stand taller than them, and always let them walk past first.
  • Bargaining Culture: You can expect bargaining culture when shopping in local markets. However, it’s important to do that respectfully and with a friendly attitude.
