Itinerary

Agreed Time: Our local English speaking Guide/Driver will welcome you at the Exit Gate of Cai Lan Cruise Port (about 10’ – 15’ walking from your ship) for Ha Long Bay Shore Excursions to Hanoi Full Day. We then drive for about 2 hours and 30 minutes to Hanoi Capital City.

Upon arrival, we will visit to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum located in Ba Dinh Square. This is one of the most visited Tourist Attractions in Hanoi. This is the final resting place of President Ho Chi Minh, the most iconic and popular leader of the country. He is well-known to his people as ‘Uncle Ho’. We take a walk outside of the building and our guide will explain to you about life and career of President Ho Chi Minh.

Lunch break with Vietnamese Best Dish: PHO (Noodle Soup with Beef/Chicken).

Continue to visit Temple of Literature & Imperial Collage – the first university of Vietnam, established in the 11 century. Originally built as a temple to Confucius, this is the site of Vietnam’s first University dating back to 1070. This was later also became the first university in Vietnam opened from 1076 under the Ly Dynasty of Vietnam.

We then visit Hoan Kiem Lake, a natural fresh water lake, located in the heart of Hanoi. Previously, the lake was called Luc Thuy (rough translation: Emerald Lake). Around early 15th century, name changed into Hoan Kiem Lake (Sword Lake or Returning Sword Lake). As it associated with the legend of King Le Thai To (1385 – 1433) returning the magical sword to the turtle deity.

We continue with a Walking Tour around Hanoi Old Quarter. This is one of the country’s best tourist attractions. The Old Town of Hanoi offers French-colonial architecture, a rich food culture and a very long history, from around the 11th Century when King Ly Thai To decided to move the Capital from Hoa Lu Ancient Capital in Ninh Binh Province today to Dai La (old name of Hanoi) and renamed Thang Long Capital.

• Option not to purchase port service fee: Please walk about 10 minutes to 15 minutes to Border Check. Our guide and driver will welcome you with a sign and a smile. This does not require a fee of 25 USD/person as mentioned above.
